Bardons to hold 'Spain' match for Barretstown

A charity football match between 'Spain' and Kilcullen will be held next Sunday, 8 August, with the proceeds going to Barretstown Castle's 'Big Picnic' Fund.

The match, which starts at 1pm at the Community Centre Complex, is being organised by regulars in Bardons pub in Kilcullen, who had adopted Spain as their team of choice in the recent World Cup 2010.

The day will include a barbecue and entertainment at Bardons following the match.

The fundraising received a kickstart with the donation of their winnings by many of the Spain fans in the gamble that was part of the pub's World Cup involvement.
