Heydon condemns toll roads proposal
The suggestion that Ireland's National roads should be tolled has been denounced as an attempt at another 'stealth tax' by local FG councillor Martin Heydon.
He condemns the idea of charging those using regional roads, especially considering the level of disrepair they are in, as well as the fact that it would leave motorists with no alternatives for travelling between large towns.
"These are not the ways we should be going," he said this morning. "The motorist is paying over the odds as it is."
