Leader funds in place for playground

The Kilcullen Community Playground project got good news this morning, to the effect that the Kildare Leader Partnership has agreed to provide the funding th group applied for.

The group recently closed local fundraising, having reached its target of €15,000. Kildare County Council has promised the remaining €200,000 for the playground, work on which it is hoped will begin by the end of the summer.

"We now have all the funds in place for the playground," a delighted Orla O'Neill told the Diary this afternoon.

The site for the playground is on the Community Centre complex, at the back of the Scoil Bhride playing fields.
