Scouts weekend

Kilcullen's scout troop was well represented at the South Kildare County Founders Day Weekend, held in Donadea Forest over the weekend of 11-13 April.

Nineteen Scouts and three Leaders from Kilcullen Scouts braved the elements to camp on the Friday and Saturday nights, with the Kilcullen Cubs and Beavers taking part in the occasion during the day on Saturday.

The Kilcullen Scouts Badger Patrol won the table quiz on the Saturday evening and the Kilcullen Scouts were overwhelmingly awarded the 'Spirit of Scouting' Award for the weekend by the other groups.

Organised by the Venture Scouts from Naas, South Kildare Scout County celebrated 100 years of scouting at the event, with several Scouts and Cubs camping overnight and taking part in numerous activities over the weekend.

Despite the best efforts of the weather to dampen everyone’s enthusiasm, a great weekend was had by all, thanks in no small part to the excellent efforts of Naas Venturers.
