Townlands names

There's a really interesting posting on the Grey Abbey Conservation Project website about the derivation of townland names in County Kildare.

The piece is based on the notes of a lecture given on November 3 to the Cill Dara Historical Society by Rory Hopkins.

Well worth a look in, as is the website from time to time. It is maintained by Mario Corrigan of Kildare County Library Service.
