'Use recycling facility' call

Kilcullen residents should make every use of the waste and recycling facility at Silliott Hill, according to Kilcullen Community Action chairman Kieran Forde.

Speaking at the recent Community Awards presentation night, he noted that Kilcullen had been one of the few towns which had gained marks in the 2006 Tidy Towns competition under the new category of 'Waste Minimisation'.

"What that means is a little vague," he said. "But at least we have a facility up the road which is geared to managing and recylcing waste.

"Maybe it is a facility which some people here wish wasn't so close to us, but it IS there, and so we should make the best use of it."
