Flower standard repaired, but...

Although Kildare County Council workers have replaced a vandalised flower basket standard on the bridge, it seems they did so without properly reinstating the pipe for the automatic watering system.

And Kilcullen Community Action chairman Kieran Forde says a lot of effort will be required to rectify this, because the bolts holding the standard into the pavement have been welded up.

"That's unbelievable," Celia Travers commented at the recent meeting of KCA where the issue was discussed.

Kieran Forde said that he had been in contact with Cllr Billy Hillis in an effort to try and organise a meeting with the Town Engineer.
