Council considering wall lowering
The planning application to have the wall around the grounds of the Cross & Passion College lowered to around 60 centimetres is currently under consideration by Kildare County Council.
Kilcullen Community Action has lodged the application with the consent of the CPC and KARE, which latter organisation has taken over the section of the building formerly the residence of the Cross & Passion sisters.
The idea is that lowering the wall -- which is to be topped by a metal railing under the plan -- will improve both the look of the streetscape and security of the premises, because the grounds will be open to public view.
