Hillcrest realignment

Well, strange goings-on indeed up at Hillcrest.



I guess it has all been explained at recent KCA meetings, given that the problems of dangerous parking on the hill have been so thoroughly ventilated for the past year or so.

And I guess I can see the logic in some of the new arrangements being progressed. Such as making the path where there used to be double yellow lines (ignored by most motorists visiting the Gala shop) so wide that there is even less room to park illegally and dangerously?

But does anyone really believe that will stop them? Does a leopard change his spots?



In the meantime the narrowing of the road is going to make it even more difficult for the car owners from the cottages across the road, who already have to put two wheels on the footpath to avoid their vehicles being hammered by trucks coming down the hill.



Maybe the narrowing of the road will make the traffic move more slowly?

As I said, it probably has all been explained.
