Time to be giving

'Tis the season to be giving ... and there are plenty of opportunities to be giving something as you walk down the streets of Kilcullen at the moment.



The Lions Club Christmas Appeal is one, and the Diary also encountered the lads from the GAA doing their fundraising thing.



It's a good job that Scrooge saw the light before Christmas 2005 arrived ...

Meanwhile Phena Bermingham has told us that the funds raised from the recent Miscellany on Sunday event which she and Tom hosted have exceeded the €3,800 mark.

The money goes to the well-deserved Michael Garry Hostel for the Homeless in Newbridge.

Well done, all who helped. This is still the nice part of Ireland, which the (very selective) Celtic Tiger hasn't managed to spoil.
