Minding the designated driver

The Government, for all its collective mealy-mouthed pronouncements about the dangers of drink driving, won't do it.

The Revenue won't, either ... still charging excise duty on the alcohol that has been removed from non-alcoholic beers.

But Martin Myles in the Hideout has. He takes the plight of the 'designated driver' to heart, and is offering that essential person the opportunity to drink something more than soft drinks at a more than reasonable price.

Beck's non-alcoholic beer is available to such drivers at just a euro a bottle over the Christmas. Cheaper by far than a soft drink or even bottled water, and much more drinkable over the long night to somebody who might be used to having a few beers.

Salut, Martin and the team at the Hideout. You deserve a good business Christmas.

Brian Byrne.
