School pupils hear about Dun Ailline

As part of National Heritage Week, pupils from Scoil Bhride were given a talk this afternoon on the ancient royal site of Dun Ailline at Knockaulin in the Heritage Centre.

The presentation was given by Des Travers of the Heritage Group, which is also holding a special seminar and walk on Dun Ailline next Sunday.

During the talk today, pupils heard about the agricultural developments of the time, and were shown and could touch artefacts of the period, including flint hand-axes and other tools and weapons.
