Tidy Towns judging imminent

The chairman of Kilcullen Community Action has appealed for everybody in Kilcullen to continue working towards keeping the town clean in advance of the annual judging for the Tidy Towns competition.

At the recent fortnightly meeting, Kieran Forde noted that the judging can take place any time during the last two weeks of June and the first two weeks in July.

Noel Clare said a 'blitz' of the Valley was needed to finish off the weeding, spraying and cutting back of bushes which had grown rapidly in recent weeks.

He also noted that the flower bed at the Naas approach to the town needs to be completely redone. "It looks quite pitiful at the moment," he said, and suggested that they should consider renovating it in a similar format to that used by Moanbane Park in their recent refurbishment of the estate entrance.
