COMMUNITY FUND FOR ACTIVE TRAVEL IDEAS

The National Transport Authority (NTA) has launched its first Active Travel Community Fund, offering €1.5m to support local initiatives promoting walking, cycling, and wheeling.  The scheme encourages community groups to submit innovative projects that address local needs and inspire sustainable travel.    

Funded by the Department of Transport, the programme aims to reduce private car use and enhance community accessibility for all ages and abilities. Applications opened on 30 September and will be available for six weeks.
