Family Fun Day to return for 2027
Following the success of Saturday's Fairy Trail Family Fun Day despite the weather, a date has been set for next year's event, writes Brian Byrne. This follows a review of the day by organisers KCA at the group's meeting last night in the Heritage Centre.
Project leader Antoinette Buckley said that while the rain impacted things early on, it later became quite busy. "It ended up a great day, and it's a wonderful event," she said, noting that for those who came, it was all free. "Things have got so expensive for families — they really appreciated that they didn't have to spend money on the day, even the ice cream was free."
Appreciation was expressed for the cooperation of other groups with the event, including the Lions Club's Duck Race and the Canoe Club, which helped to manage that. The discussion also touched on changes for the 2027 day, scheduled for 5 June, possibly to include live music.
The family Fun Day is supported by Kildare Credit Union and Kildare County Council.
