WEATHER

A bright day with sunny spells and scattered showers. Showers will gradually die out through the evening. Highest temperatures of 12 degrees with light west to north-west breezes.

DID YOU KNOW?

Wood frogs, native to Alaska and Canada, undergo a process of freezing as a survival mechanism during severe winter conditions. Elevated levels of glucose in their tissues prevent the formation of damaging ice crystals that could cause cellular rupture. The hearts, brains, and other vital organs enter a state of stasis through the deliberate reduction of metabolic activity, with as much as 70 per cent of their body water freezing externally, outside of their cells.

Kilcullen Community Action is holding its 2026 AGM on Tuesday next, 21 April.

The meeting is in the Town Hall, beginning at 8pm.
