The passing of Joan Curry (Derry)

The death has occurred of Joan Curry (née Courtney), Longfield, Eglinton, Derry, on 4 November 2025, peacefully at home in her 100th year.

Joan was the beloved wife of the late John, loving mother of Peter, Gerry, Carol, Jackie and Tina, mother-in-law of Caroline, Georgie, Aidan, Brian and Kyle, a much-loved grandmother, great-grandmother and dear sister of the late Gerry.

Joan’s remains will be reposing in her home, Longfield, Eglinton, from 12–8 pm today, Wednesday. Funeral service will take place in W J O’Brien & Son’s Funeral Home, 110 Clooney Road, Eglinton, BT47 3PU, on Thursday at 2 o’clock. A private cremation will take place later.

(Mrs Curry was known to generations of Kilcullen people through the Curry's Amusements which were part of the parish Carnival for decades.)
