WEATHER

Cloudy this morning with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. More persistent rain will develop this evening. The rain will be heavy at times, and localised flooding is possible. Highest temperatures of 7 degrees, feeling much colder in fresh, gusty east-to-southeast winds.

There are plant species known as fire-followers that only appear after wildfires. They include the fire poppy in California, the Waratah in New South Wales, and the Calliandra dysantha in Brazil.

The Kilcullen & Gormanstown Parish Lotto Draw is held at 8pm each Tuesday in the Parish Centre. This is a public event to which all are welcome. There's a prize draw each night for those attending. Details of previous Draws are here.

As usual, the venue is Scoil Bhride, from 8pm.
