The passing of Fr Cathal Price

The Diary has learned of the death of Fr Cathal Price, of Kilbarrack, Dublin, and late of Balgaddy, Lucan and Sandyford, on 2 September 2025, peacefully in the care of the staff at Beaumont Hospital. Fr Cathal served in Kilcullen Parish during the 1970s.

Predeceased by his brother Colm and sisters Maura and Peggy, he will be sadly missed by his loving family, Archbishop Dermot Farrell, fellow priests, many friends, neighbours, parishioners, and carers.

Fr Cathal will be reposing at St John the Evangelist Church, Greendale Road, Kilbarrack, tomorrow, Saturday 6 September, from 5.30pm, followed by Vigil Mass at 6pm. He will remain in the church over the weekend.

Requiem Mass will take place on Monday, 8 September, at 10am, followed by burial in Glasnevin Cemetery. Family flowers only please.
