Former CPC student Professor Tess Lambe OBE will give the inaugural Fr Sheil People for Others Honorary Address tomorrow night at Clongowes Wood College, writes Brian Byrne. The event is in conjunction with the college's Science Department.
Fr Sheil SJ is the Rector of Clongowes, previously a student there in the class of 1956. He is renowned for his ability to inspire people through his dedication to education and his passion for rugby as a builder of character and community.
The address has been established as a living tribute to his lifelong witness to being a person for others. He received a special recognition award in April for the IRFU’s 150th anniversary celebrations.
Professor Tess Lambe OBE is a distinguished scientist and co-developer of the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. In her address, she will share insights into her groundbreaking work, her journey in science, and the wider impact of her research. Last May, she gave the Commencement Address to the Graduate School Class of 2025 at the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, USA.
