Seed saving demonstrations

A demonstration of saving seed from your garden will be held in Kildare Library on 13 September, writes Brian Byrne. It will be given by horticulturist Lucy Bell and is part of a tour of Kildare libraries during the month.

The event will run from 2.30pm until 4pm. This season, Lucy will introduce tubers and discuss the important project of tree nurseries.

The same workshop will be held in Newbridge Library on Tuesday the 16th, from 6.15pm until 7.45pm, and in Athy Library on Saturday the 27th, from 2.30pm until 4pm. 

Lucy Bell founded Kildare-based Growing Wild, an environmental education company. She is an organic horticulturist, environmental educator, and trained Forest School Leader. She has years of experience facilitating in a variety of outdoor settings, enabling ways for people, both young and old, to connect to nature.
