AFC help Dermot collect for sick children charities

Local resident and member of An Garda Siochána Dermot Cagney held his annual cycle marathon outside Nolan's Butchers today, raising funds for Barretstown and for Little Blue Heroes, writes Brian Byrne. Both organisations help seriously ill children.

He rode his stationary bicycle something around 200 km today, and some of Kilcullen AFC's U14 team were on hand to help him with the collection.

Dermot, who lives in Castlemartin Lodge, is part of the Tour de Force, an organisation comprising Garda members who cycle each year to raise charity funds. He will be taking part again next June. Last year, the group raised over €70,000 for St Francis Hospice and Little Blue Heroes.
