Talk on printmaking by Mary McGrath
Local artist Mary McGrath will give a talk on printmaking on Sunday next, following the opening of an exhibition in Kilkenny by four women artists, writes Brian Byrne. The Quartet exhibition opens at 4pm in the Castlewarren Village Studios, Co Kilkenny, and her talk will begin at 5.30pm.
Margaret Becker (stained glass), Michele Sweetman (screen prints), and Amelia Peart (paintings) are the other artists exhibiting with her.
Other events scheduled during the exhibition, part of Kilkenny Arts Week, are Stained Glass: Beginnings, Deterioration & Revival, a talk by Margaret Becker, Saturday 16 August at 3.30pm; Screen Printing on Fabric Workshops 15th-17 August 2pm to 6pm (€80 – Call 086 3094520 to book); and Art Conservation: Restoring a Painting, a talk by Mary Mcgrath on Saturday 16 August from 5.30pm.
