Heritage Week artwork unveiling

A new artwork by Cian Mekitarian will be unveiled in the Kilcullen Valley Park during National Heritage Week, writes Brian Byrne. The event will be on Saturday, 16 August, at 2.30 pm.

It will be the latest in a series of Cian's artworks sponsored by Kilcullen Community Action. Previous works have included decorating many utility boxes around the town, a wall painting at Kilcullen Community Centre, and other paintings in the Valley Park.

The new large art installation will celebrate nature and culture in the locality and interest people of all ages, particularly the younger ones.

Following the unveiling, another popular event will be the What's In Our River? workshop conducted by Dr Jan Baars, which will explore the rich fauna of the River Liffey as it flows through Kilcullen.
