Free Autism webinar open for public registration
A free online public participation event on Autism will be held on Friday, 12 September by Ireland's Autism charity AsIAm, writes Brian Byrne. The charity is partnering with Microsoft Ireland for the event, which will last an hour from 1pm.
Autism – Separating Fact from Fiction will examine some of the most common myths about Autism through presentations, discussions, and a live Q&A session. It will be co-hosted by Caitlin Cruise from AsIAm and Michael Barrett from Microsoft Dream Space LIVE.
Content will be based on the recent Same Chance Report, highlighting the challenges and opportunities for inclusion in Irish society. It offers a chance to discuss what Autism is and isn’t, challenge common myths, share lived experiences, and provide practical tips for inclusion and support in everyday and workplace settings.
The event follows an earlier collaboration this year between AsIAm and Microsoft Dream Space for World Autism Month, which involved over 10,000 school children in an online session. The one-hour session will also be available on-demand via the AsIAm YouTube channel.
Registration is now open, and people can reserve a place, free of charge, here.
