Board games evenings at Woodbine

Woodbine Books will host board game evenings each month starting 11 September, writes Brian Byrne. The shop will have a selection of games, but fans are welcome to bring their own.

Pictured are Saoirse and Dawn sneaking in some practice on their chess strategies. For anyone unfamiliar with the rules of any game, there are books in the shop to help.

The initiative is one of a series of customer interaction events made possible by the awarding of a recent grant to the shop from the Books at One Community Fund. 

Other events planned will include a local history night featuring a guest speaker, a music evening aimed at teenagers, a creative writing workshop for children, and some seasonal-themed gatherings.
