Blood donation clinic on Monday

An appointment-only blood donation clinic will operate in Kilcullen on Monday next, 1 September, writes Brian Byrne. The Irish Blood Transfusion Service will organise the session in Scoil Bhride from 4.30pm to 8.30pm.

For existing donors, contact 1800 222111 to schedule an appointment. New donors can ring the IBTS on 1800 731137. The minimum requirements to donate are that you must be over 18 and under 65 (new donors) and weigh over 50 kg.

The Minister for Health established the National Blood Transfusion Association in Ireland in 1948, and in 1965, the Blood Transfusion Service Board (BTSB) came into existence.
