Steiner Secondary School needs enrolments to stay open

The Kildare Steiner Secondary School is facing closure if it can't get a small number of new enrolments for the 2025-2026 academic year, writes Brian Byrne. In a statement, the school says the second-level unit is 'at a critical juncture'.
The Secondary School was established in 2019 as a development of the original kindergarten and primary education offered by the Kildare Steiner Waldorf School, founded in 1988, and located at Rathargid, Gormanstown for many years.
The second-level school teaches a broad curriculum that combines academic subjects with creative arts and practical skills, focusing on educating the individual, rather than teaching to the test. Key features of the programme include Arts and Music, Woodwork and Crafts, Life Skills Education, and Holistic Academics. But it faces closure at the end of the 2024/2025 academic year without new students to join its community.
Prospective families – whether seeking a full-time or part-time arrangement – are encouraged to learn more about the school and consider enrolment. More information is available at this link, or contact directly: info@kildaresteinerschool.ie
