Dog Show fundraiser on Sunday

A family-friendly Dog Festival is being held this Sunday at Palmerstown Manor estate outside Nass, in aid of the Kildare & West Wicklow SPCA, writes Brian Byrne. PAWmerstown at the Manor will run from 12 noon to 4pm and promises a great day out for families and their dogs.

The KWWSPCA Dog Show element will start at 1.30pm, with all proceeds going towards supporting the animals in KWWSPCA care. Show entry fee is €5, or €10 to enter three classes.

The categories are Waggiest Tail, Child under 12 with their Dog, Senior Citizen with their Dog, Rescue Dog, Fancy Dress – Dog and Owner, Senior Dog (over 9 years), Handsomest Male Dog, Fanciest Female Dog, Child under 16 with their Dog, and the Dog You Would Most Like to Take Home (judged by Clapometer).

There are also Open Class opportunities in Large Dog and Small Dog (for any dog that has not won 1st, 2nd or 3rd in the previous classes), and Best in Show – for dogs in the previous classes who won 1st prize. There is no charge for the ‘Best in Show’ class.
