Kilcullen Féile boys head for Leinster competition

Kilcullen boys Féile team, who were considered the underdogs heading into the Kildare Féile B group this weekend, emerged victorious and will now represent Kildare in the Leinster Féile! writes Emma McLarnon. After four gruelling matches between Saturday and Sunday morning, they faced Balyna in the final yesterday afternoon in Clane. 

The boys dug deep and never gave up, putting everything into the game, bringing it to extra time. The match finished as a draw, and a penalty shoot-out was agreed between the Kilcullen and Balyna coaches. Kilcullen won the shoot-out! 

It was a fantastic day for Kilcullen. The boys and their coaches should be so proud. The coaching team is a great mix of old and new members of the community, with Kilcullen legend Shane Lambe at the helm, along with Philip Blake, super football strategist Sean O’Brien, and Michael Barry. The final words of the day were from Shane Lambe — “I love every one of you boys.”
