Kilcullen Cleanup Day under way
The Kilcullen Cleanup Day is well under way with KCA members and volunteers working in many areas to give the town a spring clean, writes Brian Byrne. We have some of them pictured here, including Kilcullen Scouts who are cleaning up around the Community Centre.
Other areas being tackled include clearing dirt and weeds from the town footpaths, picking litter from the Valley and the church area, putting up Easter decoration in the Library Garden, tidying the CPC Nuns Garden, and both ends of the town.
The bridge rails are being cleaned as are the benches in the Valley, and the really awkward job of taking the stickers from the traffic lights pole. The pump in front of the Hideout is getting a coat of paint and debris is being removed from the steps in the Valley. Weeding the church car park is also on the work programme.
The work is planned to go on until 3pm, so anyone who has an hour to spare and wants to give a hand are welcome to go along.
