Bonjour et Fáilte to Saint-Contest visitors

Thirteen people from Kilcullen's twin town of Saint-Contest in Normandy arrive this evening for a 4-day visit during which they'll interact with schools, businesses and local people, writes Brian Byrne. The visitors are being hosted by local families.
Most of the group are arriving in Ireland by car and plan to extend their trip to other parts of the country when the Kilcullen visit ends on Monday. Others are flying into Dublin today where they are being met by members of the Kilcullen Twinning Group.
A fairly packed weekend will include a guided tour of Kilcullen tomorrow morning, an after-lunch walk around Old Kilcullen, and music in Ballymore tomorrow night. On Saturday they will visit the Irish National Stud with the Japanese Gardens, and the Irish Racehorse Experience, followed by lunch in the café there. In the afternoon they'll be at the Kildare Heritage Centre, and the Cathedral and Round Tower and finish off with a wander around Kildare Village.
On Sunday they have a morning trip to Glendalough followed by a visit to the Museum of Style Icons in Newbridge Silver. Monday sees the group have a cookery demonstration at Kalbarri and the weekend finishes in the afternoon in the Town Hall where they'll meet council officials and public representatives before a community event that includes Irish dancing, music, and a slideshow recalling the previous twinning visits between the two towns. Support for the twinning is provided by Kildare County Council.
Bonjour et bienvenue à tous.
