Christmas foster homes sought for dogs

The animal welfare charity KWWSPCA has made a final appeal for people to foster a dog over Christmas, writes Brian Byrne. The scheme allows the volunteers at the KWWSPCA Shelter to have a Christmas break and the dogs in their care to have a nice comfortable 'holiday' away from the Shelter.
"Ideally we would like the dogs to be gone to foster homes by 23rd December and back again from 2nd January," a spokesperson said. "All supplies and food will be provided and any other costs will be covered by the KWWSPCA. Our Christmas Fosterers always report this as a very positive and enjoyable experience, especially those who would dearly love to adopt a dog but are not in a position to do so. It could even be a great time to try out having a dog in your home."
Foster homes have already been found for most of the dogs, but at least three are still without places. Among them Piper, a black male lurcher, who would need a cat-free home. He is good with some other dogs but not all, so a 'meet and greet' would need to be done with any resident dog, or else a dog free home is needed for him. He is very good with people and travels well in a car.
