Kilcullen Bridge Cinema for October
Three very different films are showing at Kilcullen Bridge Cinema this October, writes Teresa Nurse of Kilcullen Lions. Starting with the Irish-language film Kneecap on Tuesday October 8th, where the provocative Belfast Irish language hip-hop sensation of the title play themselves, with Michael Fassbender in a supporting role. Kneecap has an IFCO rating of 16.
Rose is showing on Wednesday October 23rd. It's the story of two sisters, Ellen and Inger, who take a bus trip to Paris where Inger once lived. Schizophrenic Inger has spent most of her adult life living in a care home and Ellen sees their holiday as an opportunity to reconnect, and to find out if Inger might be able to live more independently. Inger herself has a hidden agenda, hoping to track down a lost love on the trip.
Finally, on Tuesday October 29th at 7pm, Hocus Pocus is the Halloween family film in which three wild witches — played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy — return from 17th-century Salem after they’re accidentally conjured up by pranksters! The tricky 300-year-old trio sets out to cast a spell on the town and reclaim their youth — but first they must outwit three kids and a talking cat!
Tickets for all are on sale in Woodbine Books and also available on Eventbrite. Kilcullen Bridge Cinema is a project of Kilcullen Lions Club and is supported by Access Cinema.
