Gormanstown Concert for refugees medical aid

A reminder thet a Summer Concert to raise funds for the purchase of medical supplies for Syrian refugees in Jordan will be performed by the Gormanstown Choir TOMORROW, Friday 23 August, writes Brian Byrne.
The event in Gormanstown Chapel will be conducted by Dorly O'Sullivan and will also feature guest artistes The Consonance Quartet and Arthur Greene. The programme will include sacred and secular music.
A talk will be given about the refugees and the next Atlantic Humanitarian Relief (AHR) mission to the refugee camps scheduled for this autumn.
The twice-a-year missions provide the refugees with medical, paediatric, surgical and dental care, together with humanitarian aid, focused on refugee camps in Northern Jordan where there are around 800,000 refugees from the civil war in their home country. Operated by AHR since 2010, the volunteers are from America, other parts of Europe and, increasingly in recent years, from Ireland, including Dorly O'Sullivan, Dr Brendan O'Shea and his wife, nurse Corrina Hopkins. All volunteers are self-funded.
