LPT funding for Christmas Lights

Kilcullen has been approved for a €4,000 award from the Local Property Tax for this year's Christmas Lights, writes Brian Byrne. The funding was approved at yesterday's meeting of the Kildare-Newbridge MD.

It is part of a funding package of €20,000 across four communities in the district, divided between Kilcullen, Rathangan (€3,000), Monasterevin (€5,000) and Kildare Town (€7,500).

Kilcullen's lights are organised by Kilcullen Community Action. In addition to the LPT award, funding comes from local businesses and residents donations.
