Kilcullen junior darts player Jack Courtney has secured his place on the JDC Irish team for the Gibraltar World Championships, writes Brian Byrne, along with fellow Irish team mates Aidan O Hara, Shay Feeney and Jayden Fitzgerald. The event runs from 25-29 November.
It's the third time Jack, son of Marian and Derek Courtney of The Spout, has made the JDC team. Last year he brought home a silver medal after Team Ireland made history as the first from this country to reach the World Junior Darts Championship Cup Final.
In March of this year, the 14-year-old took gold after winning in the Pairs event and the Team event in the All Ireland Darts Tournament in Galway and then reaching the final in the Boys section.
Jack is a student at CPC and a member of the Carlow Darts Club.
