Calverstown seeks final push to raise grant matching funds
Part of a concept view of the project. |
The Calverstown community has raised more than half of the €22,000 matching funds needed to buy a site for a community hall and playground, writes Brian Byrne. Having succeeded in their application for a Rural Regeneration Grant for that amount, the Calverstown Action Network is appealing for a continued push to make up the needed balance.
At the time of writing, some €12,000 has already been raised, but the deadline of the end of July is looming and CAN is asking residents and supporters to keep spreading the word amongst neighbours and friends.
The iDonate page can be accessed here. Other fundraising ideas are in the pipeline. The space they want to buy is across the road from the village shop.
