Meet the Candidates on Wednesday night

A reminder that a Meet the Candidates event has been organised in Newbridge for tonight, Wednesday 22 May, to which have been invited candidates standing in Newbridge LEA for Local Government elections 2024, which take place on June 7th.

The event is being hosted by Newbridge Community Development and will run from 8pm at Newbridge Town FC on the Station Road W12 PW89. It will concentrate on Council business and the issues pertaining to local government and will be moderated to ensure contributions are informative and relevant to the local electorate.

Admission is free but space is limited so attendees are asked to register their details on this Eventbrite link. If there are any difficulties with that please email communitynewbridge@gmail.com.

Similar events were hosted by NCD in advance of both the 2019 local elections and 2020 general elections. This is a valuable opportunity for both candidates and the electorate to hear from each other and should be an informative and lively session.

Candidates who have announced their intention to run in the Newbridge LEA are James Stokes and Terri Thorpe (SF), Cllr Robert Power and Cllr Noel Heavey (FF), Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer and Cllr Peggy O'Dwyer (FG), Cllr Chris Pender (SocDem), Ronan Maher (GP), Aina Conway (LAB), James Garvin (IND), Melissa Byrne (Aontu), Christoir MacCormaic, Tom O Donnell and Leanne Ní Neill (all IND).
