New adventure for Geraldine Moore

If there's a bit of whispering, some tears, and unexpected packages arriving to reception at the Kilcullen Medical Centre (Centric Health) over today and tomorrow, it's all for a good reason, writes Brian Byrne.
A happy-sad reason, though, for staff and patients alike, because Geraldine Moore is leaving tomorrow after 16 years at the reception desk in the centre. She and her husband are moving to Clonakilty in West Cork, where they have family and is an area they have been going to for many years. "We always said we'd like to retire there, but we're going to give it a try rather earlier than retirement," she told the Diary today, through some of those previously-mentioned tears as more presents from patients had just arrived.
"Geraldine will be sadly missed as she is just wonderful," one of those patients tipped us off earlier this week. "She is always so kind and helpful, be it on the phone or in person. She will be missed by all, but especially Fran Butler, who has worked in the Medical Centre for 23 years. Wishing her the best of luck in her new adventure."
Absolutely.
