Enhanced bus service will link Dunlavin and Kilcullen with Newbridge

A new TFI Local Link Kildare South Dublin bus service from Dunlavin and Kilcullen to Newbridge will commence on Tuesday 7 May 2024, writes Brian Byrne.
Route 892, formerly route 129, will now extend to Dunlavin and will operate eight daily return services between Kilcullen and Newbridge, with four daily return services extending to Dunlavin, Monday to Saturday. There will be seven Sunday daily return services between Kilcullen and Newbridge, with three daily return services extending to Dunlavin.
"We have been working on this service for over a year and I’m delighted today with confirmation that the new seven day service will commence after the bank holiday weekend," says Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer. "This is a new service and I would encourage users to give me their feedback so that after the service settles in we can look at possible tweaks that might need to be made. Please try out the new service, give it a chance to settle and pass in your feedback."
The route will offer enhanced connectivity to villages and areas such as Dunlavin, Brannockstown, Kilcullen, Athgarvan, Newbridge Town Centre, Newbridge Train Station, Rosconnell, College Farm, & Newbridge College.
"I would like to sincerely thank Local Link, the staff in NTA who I have “hounded” over the past year and to Minister Martin Heydon for his support throughout this project," Cllr O'Dwyer added. "We will continue to work for and support rural communities in any way we can."
