Jack throws from strength to strength
Local lad Jack Courtney had a magnificent weekend at the recent All Ireland Darts Tournament in Galway. The 14-year-old took gold after winning the Pairs event and the Team event and then reaching the final in the Boys section.
Jack is the son of Marian and Derek Courtney of The Spout, long a competitive darts pub in Kilcullen.
A member of the Carlow Darts Club, Jack brought home a silver medal after Team Ireland made the World Junior Darts Championship Cup Final in Gibraltar last December. It was Ireland reaching their first ever World Cup final, with 26 countries competing in this event. Scotland came out on top.
