Final call for Sunday fundraising walk-run in Kilcullen
The lead organiser of next Sunday’s fundraising walk-run in Kilcullen in aid of Teach Tearmainn Kildare, Antoinette Buckley, has thanked everybody who has helped get the event going, writes Brian Byrne.
“All is ready to go, with everyone meeting up at 10.30am for the 11 o’clock start from the GAA gate at the Community Centre,” she said, encouraging everyone who can to come along and support the amazing work that Teach Tearmainn do, working to end domestic violence. “They really need funding to continue to help those in need of their services.”
Antoinette thanked especially Enda O’Neill of Kilcullen Community Centre, Dan Bell from Kilcullen GAA, and Nick Egan of Britvic for providing refreshments for the participants. “Also OT Leader Noel O’Connell, Clem Ryan of KFM, David from Teach Tearmainn and the Burkes Pharmacy Group team for their help and the fab spot prizes, along with Georgia DJ, the volunteers and Kilcullen Garda, and my husband Jim for all his help!”
She added her appreciation for “all of our lovely customers” of Burkes Pharmacy Group. “Please get the runners on and run or walk with us on Sunday. It’s International Women’s Week, women supporting women — when women get together wonderful things happen.”
Sponsorship cards are available in Burkes Pharmacy Kilcullen, Burkes Pharmacy Naas, Fairgreen Pharmacy Naas, and Poplar Pharmacy Naas.
