Letter: Re An Tearmann

Dear Editor, I would, along with the persons who signed the letter sent to the chairperson and directors of Camphill, by registered post on 11/12/23, be most grateful if you could let the kind people of Kilcullen & District who signed the petition, totalling now 1,176, know that to date this letter remains unacknowledged and unanswered. These people are also concerned that opening hours of access to the river walk, which enabled the residents with special needs to see and mingle with the public, is still limited to five days a week.
Joining in this concern is Dr Liz Cullen MB Bch (community health) PhD. Doctor Micheal Kelly (12 Main St Kilcullen), who acted as GP to the residents and staff of Camphill since 1987 until this retirement seven years ago, has also voiced his concerns in a letter addressed to the management of Camphill. In addition are myself, Simon Pallister and wife Hilary Pallister and daughter Holly, a resident of Camphill, Margaret O'Shea (long term volunteer of Camphill, 23 years), H Pallister (long term volunteer 30 yeas), Olive Dunlop RGN HSE SNR, Carro Betera (worked and lived in Camphill community and Grangebeg, teaching pottery etc from 2007-2012.
These would also like to see An Tearmann re-open as it was a working part of Camphill community and gave structure to the residents with special needs.
Signed: Simon Pallister
