Last night to Walk with Noel, and Steps Challenge update
Kilcullen has done amazingly well in the Irish Life Steps Challenge with 52,123km walked/ran, writes Liam Cronin. With one day left in the challenge, at this stage we will finish No 3 in Leinster, which is our highest ranking since we took part in the challenge over the past five years.
Well done to the 298 active walkers and runners and the 330 who signed up for the challenge. A huge thank you, we hope you enjoyed the walking as much as we did. We were overwhelmed by the response and next year, fingers crossed, we will compete again and stay in the top 3 in Leinster.
The Kilcullen GAA Lights Up 2024 walk will conclude this evening, Monday 12 February, with OT leader Noel O’Connell, starting 8pm from the training pitch. We encourage everyone to come out for one last time to “Walk With Noel” and support Noel in his final preparation for the 5K Operation Transformation walk/run in the Phoenix Park next weekend.
On average we have had about 100 walkers each week, so let’s aim for over 100 this evening as the weather forecast is good.
Finally, GAA HQ and Irish Life Health Department is inviting Kilcullen GAA as part of a limited number of clubs to participate in a special pilot designed to explore a new model of engagement for the Healthy club programmes. Expect to hear more healthy initiatives from Kilcullen GAA in the coming weeks and months as we progress through the 7-step accreditation process, as per the requirements of the Healthy Club Programme.
