Brats Bride given out this morning
Just to make sure people knew who they they were all about, Julie O'Donoghue and Mary Orford had a special giant knitted St Brigid's Cross with them as they gave away pieces of cloth as Brats Bride today.
All the brats were cleared in short order as passers-by were reminded of the old custom.
The knitted sheep they also had was to represent the saint's connection with animals and the Curragh plains.
There may be more brats available in the Library tomorrow morning.
