Would you foster a dog for Christmas?
Christmas foster homes for rescue dogs are being sought by the Kildare West Wicklow SPCA, writes Brian Byrne. Food and bedding can be provided with the dogs, and any veterinary costs will be covered by the KWWSPCA, who are specifically looking for foster homes within a 30km radius of the Animal Shelter near Athgarvan. They would like homes that could foster for at least a week.
The charity, which operated this initiative last year, says it is not only very good for the dogs, it also allows volunteers to have a well-deserved break.
"Preferably the foster home would be without other dogs or cats, and we are likely to be looking for foster homes that would take a larger dog," the organisation says. "If you think you could help, please call 087 6803295."
Pictured above is rescue dog Parky, below, who might have his forever home before Christmas, but if not, he would love to be in a foster home over the holiday period so that he could enjoy a family Christmas in a loving home.
