WEATHER

A rather chilly start this morning with some mist patches clearing away. Some early sunshine will quickly turn hazy as cloud moves in from the west this afternoon but it should stay mostly dry. Highest temperatures of 14 to 16 degrees with southwesterly breezes.

DID YOU KNOW?

A coastal city in Brazil has legally recognised its waves as 'living beings'. The waves at the mouth of the Doce River in Linhares now legally have rights of existence, regeneration and protection. The city has appointed guardians to watch over the waves, which have a distinctive tubular shape that surfers love. The guardians will act as the representatives of the waves in public decision making that could affect them.
