Kildare All-Stars jersey raises AU$6,000

The unique Kildare All-Stars jersey organised by Kilcullen's Pat Kelly raised AU$6,000 at the Gala Ball held in Perth at the weekend commemorating Jeremy Burke, writes Brian Byrne. 

The jersey was among a number of items auctioned at the sell-out event, which was organised by Jeremy's aunt Caroline Kelly-Morgan who lives in Perth. It had the signatures of the 13 Kildare players who have won All-Stars recognition, and was bought by Paddy Keegan Transport in Perth.

During the evening there were messages broadcast from sports stars and friends as well as a musical tribute to a number of people who had been repatriated back to Ireland with the help of the Kevin Bell Trust after they died abroad, including Jeremy Burke. The Trust is one of the beneficiaries of the funds raised by the Ball.
