There was a big turnout of friends and fans of Athgarvan-based artist Mary McGrath for the opening last weekend of her exhibition ‘Endangered!’ in Kilcock Art Gallery.
"I was delighted to see people from across my various communities — Kerry Bog ponies, art conservation, artist colleagues and friends — mingle and chat!" Mary posted on her Facebook page.
Ecologist Éanna Ní Lamhna officially launched the exhibition, and Mary also thanked Breda Smyth of Kilcock Art Gallery for her support.
An internationally respected art conservator, Mary has repaired and refurbished the unique 120 years-old painting at the back of the altar in Kilcullen Parish Church on two occasions — in 2007 and 2019.
The exhibition, which focuses on on vulnerable biodiversity in Ireland, continues until 21 October, open Tuesday to Saturday, 11am to 4pm.
